Prompted for Fun

My friends Eddy and Lynn invited me to join their card prompt group. Every day there is a one or two word prompt and we create a card with that prompt and then text a photo of it to each other.

Here are a few of my recent entries:

1.  Prompt was music

2A and 2B. The washi tape prompt put me on a roll and I made these two plus 3 more which was great since I hadn't used my washi stash in a long time... The circles on the pear card are made by taping multiple strips of washi to cardstock and then punching out the
circles. Thank you Pinterest for that reminder.

3. The hot air balloon card was for the wind prompt

4A and 4B. These are for the yellow-orange prompt which is one of my favorite color combos so I made a total of 6 for this one...

5. The Alice card is one of two that I made for the prompt grid. My other one is more grid-like but it's currently MIA.
6. The peacful pink bird is for the watermark prompt

Bowl of Cherries--Slipper Camp Style

Today's Topic: Life is just a bowl of cherries
In the process of wondering where the expression "Life is just a bowl of cherries" came from I created a recent blog post featuring the video and song lyrics.
Bowl of cherries from our kitchen.

Here's my favorite quote from the song:

"The best things in life to you were just loaned
So how can you lose what you never owned

Life is just a bowl of cherries
So live and laugh at it all"

Slipper Camp Activities:

1.     Well yeah, eat a bowl of cherries

2.     Eat fresh fruit every day for a week

3.     Get a cherry/olive pitter and make life easier (Tell your local Pampered Chef rep that I sent you—wink)

4.     Fill your blender with cherries, almond milk, and vanilla protein powder for a cherry vanilla shake

5.   Journal Prompt: Create a cherry and the pits post

Slipper Camp: A kinder, gentler boot camp designed to assist you in living well.

Camp Motto: Being kind to yourself makes you strong.

Artful Tourist Tenants of Creativity

Background from Designer Digitals, image from Deviant Scrap.
By releasing the cumbersome burden of my old web site I am inspired to create new projects and pages. Today I took an extra hour of my Thursday morning scheduled renewal time (yes, I schedule renewal) to create imagery for my Tenants of Creativity. These nine tenants represent my personal philosophy of creativity. I made an art journal page in May that I've wanted to express digitally for weeks. I'm so refreshed by this process.

The art journal spread that inspired the Tenants of Creativity

Explore your own tenants of creativity the next time you visit your studio space or consider an Artful Tourist workshop to guide you in this process.

Look for individual tenants of creativity to be posted on the Artful Tourist Facebook page in the coming days. You are welcome to tag them or print them for your personal use and inspiration.

Prompts

I keep a lot of lists and prompts around me. I love them most days, and they help me get more done. I also keep a journal, a scrapbook, and a daytimer.
Pictured here is a journal I made from a game board using the Rollabind(tm) binding system and collage techniques.
I have grand ideas about a blog, but, of course, never enough time to finish them all. Here's a few prompts for me, or if you want to comment, you certainly can do so too....

--CHA 2007

--Family visits

--Suite 101

--What's in the studio

--What's leaving the studio

--Celebrate Family

--New versus revived
--(almost) forgotten projects
